Oncological care of the future - in the area of conflict between demographics, need for reform and shortage of specialists

The 20th tuberculosis training course is a recognised training event and is awarded 5 points by the Saxon State Medical Association.

On 7 August 2024, the Stand Alone Symposium - Vom Uveamelanom zur metastasierten Erkrankung will take place on the topic of " Herausforderungen in der Versorgung von Patienten mit Lebertumoren und CHEMOSAT®".

This event will take an in-depth look at various aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of these tumours. Chemosaturation, an innovative liver-directed organ therapy, will be examined. Speakers such as Prof Dr Andrea Forschner from Tübingen will present the latest data on chemosaturation in the therapeutic environment.

About 1,800 pathologists practice in Germany. Congress president and pathologist Prof. Reinhard Büttner invites all of them and the professional associations and specialist organizations to discuss pathology in the context of cancer diseases at the German Cancer Congress 2024 (Deutscher krebskongress 2024). The traditionally interdisciplinary nature of all sessions at the DKK allows for a collaborative and multiprofessional approach to addressing the needs and demands of pathology in oncology today and tomorrow, expanding knowledge and sharing the latest scientific findings. The DKK's strongly healthcare policy orientation also offers the opportunity to be heard in politics. To this end, all pathologists are invited to actively participate in DKK 2024.

ASH Nachlese 2023 in Dresden: After the inspiring annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology in San Diego, we bring the most important results and discussions directly to you. The event will feature an exciting programme of lectures presented by renowned speakers from the region.

This symposium will take place for the 29th time. It's the conclusion of the excellent cooperation in our recently recertified allergy center. Together we have put together an interesting program with exciting topics and renowned speakers.

In the last decade cancer metabolism has emerged as a cancer hallmark. Although it has been almost a century since Otto Warburg described a difference in cellular metabolism in cancer cells, cancer-specific metabolic alterations have not been fully exploited therapeutically. Increasing numbers of studies showed both the complexity and the promise of targeting metabolism as a therapeutic strategy in cancer. It is time for scientists and clinicians working on this strategy to meet and exchange their experience.

With a translational focus, the symposium brings together oncologists and researchers interested in exploiting the metabolic bias of tumors for therapeutic interventions. It aims to shed light and bring to discussion novel translational approaches that are either currently under clinical testing or show translational potential in preclinical studies.

Information event for physicians, nutritionists and nutritional medical assistant professions. On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Dresden University Hospital invites to the Scientific Nutrition Circle.
This information event is aimed at physicians, nutritionists and medical assistant professions dealing with malnutrition in tumor patients..

The workshop will focus on clinical research topics related to acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), which is the most common form of acute leukaemia in adults.

Together with representatives from the scientific community, a curriculum has been developed that places greater emphasis on effectiveness and efficiency as the central link for communication and implementation among stakeholders in the healthcare sector, and allows health decisions to be more scientifically grounded.

Sunday morning is all about The Other Focus: Gender and Diversity in Oncology. Here, we look at gender differences in the prevalence, diagnosis, treatment, and experience of cancer, as well as the importance of diversity in cancer research and treatment to ensure patient-centered, individualized care.

The goal of the symposium is to present the most important information on rare but relevant lung diseases and to enable you to apply this information directly to your daily practice.

The renowned ASCO symposium of the American Society of Clinical Oncology is a major event for scientists, researchers and physicians in the field of cancer research. From June 2-6, 2023, more than 30,000 attendees from around the world will gather in Chicago, Illinois, to share the latest study results and experiences.

We combine current innovations in diagnostics and therapy of the major hematologic diseases from an expert perspective with concrete clinical case discussions. For each entity, an expert presentation will be combined with a practical case and discussed together. Also for this year, the best German experts and desired candidates have already confirmed their participation, so that we can already look forward to an exciting event.

ASH Nachlese 2023 in Dresden: Insights into the latest advances in haematology. The ASH Nachlese offered physicians, researchers and professionals insights into the latest innovations and therapeutic approaches. The programme included short lectures on different areas of haematology such as Myelodysplastic Syndromes, Acute Leukaemias and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia.
