- 1989 - 1998 Research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO) and the Institute for Human Factors and Technology Management (IAT) at the University of Stuttgart
- 1989 - Diploma thesis on the topic of part family formation for production island planning
