For a green and liveable Dresden
Since January 2026, Dresden has been home to seven new young hornbeams. These were planted in Friedrichstadt on a side street off Friedrichstraße, leading towards the Friedrichstädter Tor playground.
By contributing financially to the tree-planting initiative, GWT – a technology transfer company with deep roots in Dresden – aims to give something back and demonstrate its commitment to a continuously ‘green’ city. After all, what many people don’t realise is that Dresden is already one of the greenest cities in Europe. Reason enough to maintain this status and actively support it.
The newly planted trees are dedicated to the children of GWT employees. Many thanks to the city authorities for making this donation possible.
