Events, encounters, inspiration: a look back at a month full of highlights
The 5th Interkulturellen Jobmesse Dresden at the World Trade Centre was a great success for GWT, who were delighted to have participated. The event provided a valuable platform for companies and international talent to connect and exchange experiences. Many guests used the opportunity to find out about career prospects, network and learn about entry-level opportunities.
A wide range of career paths were presented at the GWT stand. The response was consistently positive, characterised by openness, curiosity, and a genuine interest in shared future prospects.
We would like to sincerely thank the organising team for the successful event, and all participants for the valuable discussions and ideas.
On 15 May, the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS opened its doors for an engaging exploration of the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics as part of the W⁴ – How Science Becomes Business event series.
The focus was on adaptive robotics, which uses intelligent sensor technology and AI to bring more 'tactile sensitivity' to automated processes – a key technology for varied small series and precise single-part production. In addition to keynote speeches that were scientifically sound, the programme also offered practical insights into ongoing research projects and an exclusive lab tour with live demonstrations of adaptive robotics in application.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all participants and the Fraunhofer team for their invaluable contributions to the success of the event and the valuable technical insights they provided. The approaches and findings presented provide valuable inspiration for the future use of AI-supported automation solutions, especially in areas where conventional systems reach their limits.
Two days full of exciting insights, intensive discussions and forward-looking ideas are now behind us: The 28th Symposium ‘Use of Renewable Raw Materials: Biomass – Heat – Electricity’ in Zittau on 22 and 23 May brought together experts from science, practice and municipal energy planning to work together on the solutions of tomorrow.
The focus was on topics such as thermochemical gasification of solid biomass, innovative waste recycling and new concepts for municipal heating networks. It became clear that the use of biomass for energy is not a niche topic – it is a crucial building block for a sustainable energy future.
A big thank you to all participants, speakers and contributors for the valuable exchange. We are already looking forward to seeing you again at the 29th symposium next year.
