What do optimised planning solutions in rail transport look like? This important question was addressed by the DIMO project, which Professor Udo Buscher carried out last year in collaboration with industrial partners and GWT.
As part of the project, the Chair of Industrial Management developed an optimisation process for a key problem: the short-term adjustment of shift schedules in rail operations. This is now being further tested as part of an extension. We are eagerly awaiting the results.
