The Innovation Center for Sustainable Refurbishment researches the physical
properties of buildings and develops sustainable energy concepts for
buildings and neighborhoods. Numerical simulations and experimental studies are used to create innovative solutions for optimizing the indoor climate and energy efficiency.

  • Energy-optimized construction: Development of sustainable concepts for new buildings and renovation measures
  • Material and component research: investigation of building materials with regard to thermal insulation, moisture protection and durability
  • Indoor climate modeling: simulations to improve indoor climate and energy efficiency
