Inauguration of DB ICE maintenance depot in Cottbus
About two years ago, the go-ahead was given for the construction of Deutsche Bahn AG's major "Neues Werk Cottbus" project. This was the first project to test the "Partnerschaftsmodell Schiene" for new cooperative collaboration in railway construction.
The new ICE maintenance hall in the eastern construction area has now been officially opened. Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who attended the event, emphasised the importance of the construction project for structural change in the region and praised the success of the project, particularly against the backdrop of mobility change.
The GWT Innovation Centre for the Construction Industry and Construction Operations, headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Sundermeier, has been supporting the railway construction project from the very beginning.
