COMPERA registry
comparison of mortality rates of PH patients with Covid-19
The evaluation of two time periods (Jan. 1, 2020-Dec. 31, 2021 and Jan. 1-Oct. 31, 2022) compared mortality rates of PH patients with Covid-19. Jan. 1, 2022, was chosen as the cutoff date for the comparison, as the Omicron BA.1/2 and later BA.4/5 variants were predominant in Europe as of that date. The evaluation showed that the annual rate of fatal courses fell from 20.1% in the earlier period to 1.6% in the second period, although infection rates were known to be much higher under Omicron. This is a reassuring development for both patients and scientists.
The COMPERA registry has resulted in more than 20 publications in high-impact scientific journals to date. We will keep you informed about new publications, also on our homepage.
