Research and development
- New concretes and construction methods, in particular concretes with textile reinforcements and carbon concrete
- Bond between reinforcement and matrix
- special loading scenarios such as impact and multi-axial loading in material and component tests
- Simulation with DEM and FEM, development of material laws and design methods
- Textile reinforcement - mainly carbon fiber - for reinforcement and new construction
- In-situ load tests and long-term monitoring of structures
Expertise
- Non-destructive examinations and destructive load tests on a variety of building materials, building elements or components
- New development of test setups for special test tasks that cannot be solved with standardized tests
- Expert assessments on and of structures on behalf of public and private clients
- Planning, execution and evaluation of experimental bearing capacity analyses
- Production of new components and execution of reinforcement works by means of carbon concrete
Transfer of research results into real construction projects - Organizer of various symposia (Dresden Bridge Construction Symposium, Symposium Experimental Investigation of Building Structures, Carbon and Textile Concrete Days)
- Research initiator of the world's first carbon concrete house
Reference projects
- Load tests to determine the load-bearing capacity of ceiling structures in historic buildings
- Determination of the load-bearing capacity and bond strength of bridges
- Investigation of the remaining useful life of bridge structures.
- Preparation of ZiE and AbZ expert opinions
