Professional background:
- since 2007 Head of the Chair of Agricultural Systems Engineering at the Institute of Natural Products Engineering at the TU Dresden
- Prior to that, many years of industrial experience at the John Deere plants in Zweibrücken, Germany, and at the World Wide Development Center of the John Deere Harvester Works in the U.S., where he held positions including Design Engineer, Engineering Manager Combine Harvesters, and Member of the Executive Board.
- 2007 Habilitation on the topic: "Development process and engineering education: under the influence of global markets using the example of the agricultural machinery industry".
